A Panoramic Adventure in the Heart of the Vigezzine Alps
The excursion to the Laghetti di Muino is one of the most popular walks in the Vigezzo Valley, thanks to its easy route and the breathtaking views it offers along the way.
We start from Piana di Vigezzo (1,725 m), easily reachable by cable car from Prestinone. From here, we take the GTA (Grande Traversata delle Alpi) path that climbs up to Bocchetta di Muino (1,974 m), a small pass marked by a wooden statue, placed in memory of the spalloni, the smugglers who once crossed these mountains.
From the pass, the path continues with a short descent until reaching the first Muino lake, nestled between pastures and rocks. A little further up is the second lake, an even greener and quieter place, where time seems to stand still. This hidden corner is ideal for a relaxing break, a picnic or simply to enjoy the peace and beauty of uncontaminated nature.
